Sweet as Chocolate Cami Cakes is a female Beagle mix with beautiful chocolate coloring. She is approximately 4 years old and weighs 25 pounds. She has been spayed, microchipped, and treated for heart worms. Cami is smart and quickly learned the rules of the foster home. She learned to ring the bell at the back door to be let out and readily kennels for a treat. Cami is house trained and working hard to walk politely on a leash and harness. She is great with children and other dogs. The foster family does not have cats, but with Cami's mild-mannered personality, there is no concern. Cami Cakes is as sweet as chocolate; an ... Although she is apprehensive of loud noises, all is well with gentle reassurance. Cuddly Cami is hoping for a loving family that appreciates a delightful piece of chocolate.     **ADOPTION PENDING** Hi everyone! My name is Duncan. I am a 25lb Beagle mix, around 2-3 years old. I am crate and house trained and I know some basic commands. My life was pretty rough before I got to my foster home, but I don't let that bring me down! I am happy all the time! I had a skin infection that is all better, but I still haven't grown all my hair back. I love, love, love playing fetch. I could play all day long. Tennis balls are my favorite thing ever. I am always playing with my foster puppy brother and sister, it's pretty fun. But I also like to curl up and take a nap at my foster moms feet. I get along with dogs (especially ...     **ADOPTION PENDING** .Charlie is a lovable 5 month old hound lab mix. He has the temperament of a lab meaning he is a BIG goofball. He loves toys, his foster siblings, people, toys, trying to catch butterflies, barking at himself in the mirror, toys oh, and did I mention he loves toys? Beagle    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi, I'm Buster, I am a 5 year old beagle. I am a small beagle weighing only about 23lbs, my foster mom says I am the perfect lap beagle, whatever that means. I have been in rescue since April, but because I had heartworms, I haven't been available. Well guess who has four paws, floppy ears, a wagging tail, and has finished treatment, this beagle right here! I guess I should tell you a little bit about myself. Beyond the fact that I am the most handsome guy ever, I am a fairly mellow guy who absolutely loves to cuddle. I get along great with other dogs, big or small, especially if they like to play. I love to spend time outside ... (Read More)chasing rabbits and those pesky squirrels. I can be a bit of an escape artist so if no one is out there to watch me I have to be tethered. I am doing really good at this potty training thing, I still have occasional accidents, but I try really hard. I am crate trained, though I don't like it, I know I have to when my foster family leaves. I love people, except the really small kids, they scare me, but the older ones are okay. I am looking for the perfect forever family that will love my cuddles as much as I love to cuddle them. Buster is current on vaccinations and micro chipped. He will soon be neutered once his HW test shows he is negative. If you are interested in Buster, please fill out an adoption application at www.bassetandbeagle.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-11-00434Memphis (male)

Black and Tan Coonhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

This is Memphis, a one year old coonhound mix. Memphis is a real hound's hound, and is everything you expect a hound to be. He is independent and laid back, follows his nose wherever it takes him, and is very loyal. Not to mention handsome as anything, and this romeo loves to give kisses! Memphis loves to jump around and play, both inside and out in the yard. He's happy to wrestle with his foster brothers, and enjoys car rides and running with his foster dad. But he also likes his quiet time, and will often curl up on the floor or couch, or sometimes in his own kennel, to gnaw on a bone or snooze. Speaking of, Memphis is a chewer so it's ... (Read More)best to keep toys accessible and socks out of reach. Memphis weighs in at about 75lbs. Because of his size and goofiness his play can get a little rowdy, but it's always in good fun. He is great with kids of all ages (and has been known to make nice with bunnies!), but just because he is big caution is suggested around smaller children who could be frightened or knocked over. He would do well either with other dogs, or as an only dog. He came into rescue with no training, but has since learned to sit and go in his kennel, and is working on learning boundaries, especially where food is involved. He has a tendency to counter surf ('Come on dad, I know the cookies are up there.'), but takes correction well. He is fully potty trained and crate trained. Although you'd never know it, Memphis has previously tested positive for earthworm, and will soon be undergoing testing to see if further treatment is needed. If you are interested in Memphis, please fill out an adoption application at www.bassetandbeagle.org (Less)

Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

**ADOPTION PENDING** My name is Banana, and I am a little, itty, bitty, really cute pup! My rescue group thinks I'm a mini chi/doxie/beagle mix. I'm 11 weeks old and only 3.5 lbs and will not grow too much bigger. I love to run around the yard and am very fast. Hardly anyone can catch me! Because I am so small you have to be really careful with me, and cant have huge dogs that might accidentally step on me. Also, because I'm so small, I have little dog syndrome and can be feisty sometimes%BD'%BD| Since I am a puppy I love to BITE!! I'm working on it, but still love to bite. Because of these things I would do best in a home ... (Read More)without small kids or really big dogs. I am kennel trained and working on potty training. I am not spayed yet because of age so you will have to add a $50 spay deposit to my fee to be refunded when I get spayed. I am current on the shots I need, and microchipped. Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

**ADOPTION PENDINGH** I am an all American mixed breed (11 weeks old) and a rambunctious little guy that just keeps on going and love to play. I like to be held but that snuggling thing is just not my style until I am worn out. I like to voice my opinion when I want to play and my older foster sisters are not interested. I love to play tug of war and wrestle with other foster puppies. I will play fetch, but haven't gotten that bring it back and give yet. I have met both large and small dogs and like them both, especially if they will play with me. I have not been exposed to cats. I am a nibbler when it comes to food, but occasionally I ... (Read More)can surprise you and eat quite a bit at once. I am still working on my basic commands and will need someone with patience to work with me as I get distracted pretty easily since I would rather be playing. I will kennel up at night and sleep through the night. Since I am still a puppy I haven't mastered this potty training thing yet and will have occasional accidents in the house, but if you work with me and make sure I get out often I will get the hang of it. My foster Mom puts me in my kennel when she leaves during the day and I am ok with that and will take a nap until she comes home and lets me out so I can go outside and do my thing. You can see how much I've grown and I get cuter every day. Brock is current on vaccinations, micro chipped. Beagle    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

**ADOPTION PENDING** Hi! My name is Zoey! (My friends call me Zo) I am a 7 year old chocolate tri-color beagle. (Phew! That's a mouthful.) I also have mottling on my legs, shoulders, and belly. Don't worry, my foster mom had to look that up too. I came to join my foster family in early July. I made my trip all the way from Tennessee in one day! I was Ex-Hau-Sted. By now, I am starting to get settled into life here with my foster family. I have two foster brothers. One is called Brady. He is a 3 year old beagle (a BBRH alum) and is my favorite (I prefer dogs that are my size). My other foster brother is Reagan. He is a 4 year old ... (Read More)Rhodesian Ridgeback and is muchhhhhh bigger than me. I get along with both of my brothers, but love to wrestle with Brady. When he doesn't play exactly when I want, I like to use my voice to tell him to play with me. Gets 'em every time! My foster family is awesome! I didn't know what I was missing, but they have taught me that us doggies should potty outside, that we can play with ALL the dog toys (and not have to pick just one), and that I get a treat if I sit. This is soooooo cool! PLUS- my brothers and I get to go on walks with our people, we love smelling the neighborhood! I think my favorite part is when we all run outside in the yard. Brady likes to tell everyone that he is outside with a Bayyyroooooo, but I prefer to sniff quietly. I came to BBRH because my previous family left me at a shelter. I was very scared, but BBRH took me in and quickly put me with a foster family. I immediately knew that I could count on these guys. They made me feel safe. Sometimes I forget that I can trust my foster family and I get scared when they start to leave. My foster parents are being patient and teaching me that it is okay to trust them. I like to hang out with my foster brothers during the day. While my foster people are at work, we play, wrestle and get into shenanigans. I really, really miss my people when they are at work. I would honestly prefer if at least one of them could stay home. I show them how much I missed them by greeting them at the door when they come home. I don't even run outside until I get my hug! I really like hugs, but I LOVE to be picked up and held. Especially by my foster mom, maybe it's the way she smells, or that she is a girl like me, but I really like to be around her. I even help her with the chores! Whether she is cleaning, doing laundry, working on projects%BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD|I am always with her! You know what I love about being a rescue dog? I love that I know that a family is out there looking for a dog like me! And until that family finds me, I will be happy, healthy, and safe with my foster family. I hope that my future family has another small dog for me to play with. I have really enjoyed playing with Brady. If they don't have a dog, I hope that they at least have a family member who stays home during the day; I get sad when I am by myself. I really hope they like short walks each day. I absolutely love to walk about a mile each day. I have been introduced to a child before and liked them, but I haven't been around them other than that. I think that I would like children based on the toddler I met! She was very gentle when petting me and liked my kisses! I am not sure that I have met a cat before, I really don't know if I will like them or not. I am current on my vaccinations, HW negative, spayed, and micro chipped! Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Justice is a sweet sensitive little beagle mix boy about 1-2 years old and only about 20 pounds. He has the cutest speckled belly. He has had a rough start in life. He is scared of people when he first meets them and requires time to warm up. He will eventually warm up to his people, but any affection he wants remains on his own terms. He feels most safe to approach his people when they are sitting down or lying down. Justice is an awesome cuddler and loves to sleep with you. He is a very lovable dog once he builds a relationship with you. He will greet you when you get home and likes to be and know where his human is. Even when he ... (Read More)has been around his humans for a long time, he will still sometimes pee out of fear when approached. He is scared of loud noises and quick movements, so he will need a quiet calm home with no kids under 12. If there are kids in the home, older teenagers would be best. Justice loves other dogs and gets his confidence from them, so he must have a young playful dog that will play with him and be his best friend. He is very attached to his current foster brother. Justice is also good with cats. He is completely housebroken and uses a doggy door. If there is no doggy door in his new home, he will need time to adjust to a new potty schedule. He can be trusted to be left out in the house, although he will chew on things he's not supposed to occasionally, which is normal for a young dog. Justice loves to investigate his backyard but will need a secure fence as he will dig. He likes toys and nylabones. He is still scared to walk on a leash but with time, I'm sure he will learn that walks are fun. Justice needs and requires a safe, loving, patient, quiet, calm home where he can continue to learn that the world is a safe place and that he can only expect to know love and kindness for the rest of his life. He will love his forever people with his entire heart and will be forever grateful to you. Please give this sweet, gentle boy a chance! He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, had fecal test, heartworm tested and on monthly heartworm preventative and micro chipped. He is also on monthly flea/tick preventative. Treeing Walker Coonhound    Age: Puppy

Hi everyone! I'm Sadie, a little over a year coonhound mix and I'm a hoot! I'm still a youngster so I am a little rough around the edges but hey, what hound pup isn't? A newbie to my foster family, yet they say I am pretty awesome, especially since I'm housebroken! I'm understanding commands, words and learning to walk really well on a leash. In the beginning I was kind of like a drunken sailor, happy and all over the place, but every day I'm doing better with this leash thing attaching me with my person. Pretty soon, we are going to start running together. I love to run. In fact, I'm faster than a gazelle. My legs are so long and ... (Read More)really graceful. I'll tell you a little secret: my sweet, kind heart and bright IQ really wants to make good choices but that hound pup in me sometimes leads me astray. The struggle is real, folks. Sometimes I get so excited, I jump. We are working hard to correct that tiny flaw. I'm not a house wrecker and haven't gotten into any real mischief. My bedtime routine includes sleeping with my foster family teen or in my dog bed in her room. She says I have the cutest snore. My foster mom says I have bionic hearing and I'm quite curious. I'm always following my foster family around. When I am in my kennel for dinner & relaxation, they play music for me to chill. Playing with toys and look for bunnies & birds in my backyard is exhausting. If I am outside, I really love to have company. In fact, I love to be around people, big and small. I do pretty good with dogs, but need to be introduced slowly. If a curious, family fun-loving, potential for hunting dog is what you need in your life, then I am the gal for you! (Less)

Black and Tan Coonhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi guys, I'm Westley! I'm a (barely) 1 year old coonhound mix. I love people, dogs, toys, snacks, soft beds, chasing my tail, and life in general. I'm all about exploring new things, and so love walks and car rides. I get along great with my two fur brothers (they're both bigger than me), and love jumping in to wrestle or run with them. Sometimes they get too much for me though, and I know that those times it's ok to just step back and go curl up with my foster dad instead. Dad says I'm definitely the cuddliest of the bunch. I'm not a velcro dog, but I like to at least know where my people are, and am likely to be found on a couch near ... (Read More)you, if not with my head in your lap. I was very anxious and nervous when I first came into rescue, but have since really warmed up. Whereas I used to wail in my kennel, now I'll hop in there if you give me a treat, and sleep quietly through the night (or day, if you're going to work). I'm also fully potty trained, will sit on command, and HW-. I would do best in a home where either I have constant human companionship, or there's another dog around to play with.     **ADOPTION PENDING** Magnolia is a sweet and happy basset mix girl. She loves to play with her foster brothers. She knows every inch of the backyard, because she spends every minute she can outside exploring. She is housebroken and kennel trained. She can be trusted to be good outside the crate also. Maggie's temperament is loving and friendly, she will make a great companion. She is a young lady of 18 months or 2 years old, so she still has some puppy energy. Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

**ADOPTION PENDING*** Abby is a 3 to 4 year old gorgeous brindle hound mix. She is perfectly housebroken, crate trained and dog door trained. Although she prefers to be uncrated, she settles immediately and rests quietly inside until it is time to come out, then she greets you with her happy dance. She has been trusted to have free reign of the house with her foster brother during the day while everyone is at work or school. Overall, Abby is pretty quiet, but she will sing in support of any emergency personnel responding in the area. She is great with children of all ages, dogs, cats and even baby rabbits. She is a bit of an attention ... (Read More)hound and will put her paw on you in an attempt to get you to pet her-she loves being with people and will usually be close by at all times. Abby walks well on a leash, even allowing the kids to walk with her. She is somewhat hesitant around other dogs if they get in her face, but has adjusted quickly to every other dog that she has been exposed to. Abby sleeps through the night on her dog bed and is not a morning doggie at all. She usually relocates herself to the dark, quiet closet in the mornings when the alarm goes off until she is ready to start her day. At some point in her life, she was not treated well and has a BB embedded in her side as a result of that. It doesn't seem to bother her and would be painful to remove, so it is being left alone. Abby is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will need to finish treatment and be spayed before she can go to her forever home. Abby is current on vaccinations and micro chipped. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-13-00408Riley (male)

Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

**ADOPTION PENDING** Hi Everyone! My name is *Riley and I guess I'm a handsome man. I'm not sure what that means, but my foster mommy tells me all the time I'm her handsome man. When she calls me that, I roll over for belly rubs b/c I know she's going to rub my belly, and I LOVE that! I'm between 2-3 years old and I'm looking for my forever home. I'm living in a busy house, with kids and other fur siblings, and I do great with all of them. I have two foster brothers and three foster sisters. I'm a quiet guy, (and handsome, too) who is completely fine with letting any/all of my foster siblings be in charge. I'm learning how to play with ... (Read More)them, and it's so much fun. I love to run and play with them in the yard, especially my nine month old foster sister. She's teaching me all sorts of fun doggy things to do in the yard (like how it's fun to chew on sticks and play with my other fur siblings). Foster mommy won't let me run around too much though b/c she tells me I'm heartworm positive. She also tells me I'm handling treatment like a trooper and will be ready for adoption when I'm all done with treatment. I'm not sure what this heartworm thing is though b/c I feel really good and I'm so happy to be able to just be a young dog doing all the doggy things I can. I don't know what my name was when I came to my foster home, but I've learned that my new name is Riley and I come when I'm called. I know what 'no' means and I learned 'sit' in a couple of days. I also know that I'm supposed to go potty outside, and I always do that. Foster mommy is teaching me about this thing called a kennel. Even though I don't really like it so much, I will go in with some slight encouragement and a treat. I also eat my meals in there and have learned that my kennel is a safe place and that it's ok once I get in there. I just lie down quietly and wait for foster mommy to eventually come back and let me out. I don't really bark too much, even though my foster siblings do sometimes. When mommy tells them no, and to come inside, I come inside, too. I also come when she specifically calls for me! Mommy tells me that I'm supposed to gain some weight b/c I was skinny when I came to her home. I think I'm doing good at that b/c now I'm eating all of my breakfast and dinner and mommy tells me 'good job' and then she tells me I'm her handsome man. Boy, I must be really handsome b/c she tells me that a lot. %BD%81S I'm kind of a timid guy; I want to be a playful puppy, but I'm still learning about humans and that they are good to have around and that I can trust them. I really want to please my humans, so when I see them, especially foster mommy, I will approach in a somewhat guarded yet submissive stance. I wag my tail at all of my family, and now that I am getting to know all of them, my tail wagging is so happy that I have a super wiggly butt when wagging my tail. I will usually roll over right away to show my belly and that I'm no threat. I've also learned that I get lots of belly rubs that way, and I LOVE belly rubs. Did I already tell you that? I kind of get a little scared if someone raises there voice, even if it's not at me. I very much want to make my humans happy b/c they are so good to me. I'm just still trying to learn that I can trust them. Foster mommy tells me that I am so handsome and sweet that I will be a good match with just about any family. I get along with all my fur siblings, I learn things quickly, I don't bark too much, I've adjusted to the business of the household, and I'm fine if it's quiet, too, I come when I'm called, I have not yet learned the finer art of this thing called begging that mommy tells my fur siblings to 'stop that', I love belly rubs, I ride quietly in the car, and although I am still timid, mommy says that I am coming around to not being so afraid of loud noises and sudden movements, and most of all, I am a handsome man-mommy says so and I've learned that I can trust her so it must be true. I would like to find my furever home! Can it be you?! %BD%81S *Riley has not yet been neutered. He will undergo that procedure once his HW treatment has been completed. (Less)

Beagle    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] At 8 years old, Stanley may be on the older side, but don't let his age fool you. He is all beagle! Stanley's favorite things to do are sniff out an interesting scent, play with his canine foster brother and sister, toss around and chase toys and patrol the backyard, keeping it safe and secure. While not excessively vocal, he does like to alert you when people or dogs are walking by. Like many beagles, Stanley is very focused on his food, and sometimes sneaks a taste of his foster siblings' dinners. Stanley is a gentleman with the human toddler in his foster home, though if he's presented with a snack at ... (Read More)snout level, he will quickly take advantage of it. Although Stanley enjoys a good romp around the backyard, he is also happy to curl up on the couch or dog bed in the evening for a good snooze. He's a great balance of energy and mellowness. Stanley does has occasional, mild seizures. He recently started medication to control them. Stanley is current on all vaccinations, HW negative, neutered, and micro-chipped. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-30-00411Duke (male)

Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Duke is NOT a beagle. %81S We think Duke might be a Majestic - a bloodhound/coonhound mix. His size sure fits. At 95 lbs, he's a BIG boy! Like so many dogs who find themselves in rescue, he had a rough beginning and found himself in an Alabama shelter. Lucky for Duke, a fantastic rescue (US!) saw him and thought he needed to come check out the view from up North. Though Duke had never been inside a house before, he's adjusted quickly. In less than 24 hours he figured out that crates are a nice place to snuggle in for a nap or a night, and thought he no longer requires crating at night, he will crate up easily when his foster mom needs to be ... (Read More)gone. He is reliably house trained to a doggy door. Though he is a hound, he is very quiet in the house and only bays outside when he sees other dogs. He is uninterested in the resident cat (though Mr. Kitty lives upstairs and only sneaks onto the stairs to taunt the resident dogs). Duke also loves his foster brother and sister coonhounds, and is always looking for someone to play with. Wrestling with his furbrother Wyatt is one of his favorite things! Duke loves people and is terrific with kids (though due to his size, he will be too much for a home with small children). His foster mom calls him a velcro dog! His favorite things are chewing on his Nylabone or rope toy (which he doesn't mind sharing), going walking with his person, and playing outside. He is still working on basic commands and house manners. He is doing very well walking on a harness leash, and his foster mom says the one she is using will go with him since he's done so well with it! We estimate Duke's age to be 3-4 years old. Duke is at a good weight, neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and is micro chipped. He will benefit from a family willing to continue to work with him on his basics, and would love a home with another young dog who likes to play as much as Duke does! If you're ready for a great big hunk of slobbery hound love, then Duke may be your man! (Less)

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

Hi! I'm Winnie, a beautiful black and tan coonhound! I'm kind of an older gal around 7-8 years old and around 45lbs. but I sure don't let that slow me down. I love to go on walks and be outside! I came from Alabama, so this is the first time I've experienced snow'| and I LOVE IT! I'm adjusting to living in a house really well, I am housebroken, and kennel trained, although I do not really care for it. I have had a hard life prior to rescue, so I am looking for a nice quiet home where I can spend the rest of my years snuggled up with my forever family. I love everyone I meet and enjoy resting my head on your lap while I lean on ... (Read More)you. My ideal home would have a fenced in backyard so I can let my natural hound instinct work and sniff out all the bunnies and squirrels I can find. I would love a family or even just one person to call my own. I do bark a little bit, but that is just to let you know I would like to go outside. Please consider letting me into your life, I promise I will become your best friend and will provide you with love and entertainment with my little quirks! Winnie is spayed and micro chipped. I'm good around kids, and I'm OK with cats. Dusty needs to be in a home where he is an only dog. He loves to nap and would love a lap to snuggle on. He is very smart, knows sit, down, stay and has the best recall I've ever seen in a beagle! Dusty has bronchitis and does some coughing. I am ... Has more energy. Dusty would be good in most homes, he has been around a 6 year old and does fine with her. Because he has bronchitis, he would probably do better in a quieter home and a smoke free home. Dusty is current on all vaccinations, HW negative, neutered, and micro chipped (Less)

Hi world! My name is Stella, aka Helicopter Butt, Nerd, Dog, etc. I've been living with my foster mom and dad since September and having a blast! Definitely better than the first 7 or 8 years living in a crate. I took to my new life pretty easily, sleeping on my first couch my first night with them. I'm all about the belly and ear rubs. The more the better! Going for walks is a favorite of mine. I try to smell all the things, but I'm not too hard headed about it. That's also when I do my business, most of the time;) Snuggling is a must, I fall asleep on dad's lap all the time. If not, I'll be happy just being curled up near my people. I've ... You better be ready to scratch this belly when you come home, though! Mom and dad have these two cats, they're pretty cool I guess. We go our separate ways, for the most part. I'm not big on these toys that are all the rage, but I do love me a plastic lid or some paper. If you're looking for someone to enjoy your day with, I'm your girl!
